MBBS 2022-23 Academic Calander: NMC has released important guidelines and an academic calendar for the MBBS batch 2022-23. The National Medical Commission guidelines state that the MBBS 2022-23 batch will commence on 15th November 2022 and vacations and exam schedules may change as per the affiliated universities of the respective colleges.
The Commission also mentioned that Electives- 2 blocks of 15 days each are to be adjusted by respective colleges for pre and/or paraclinical branches and clinical branches.
The supplementary exams will be conducted with a gap of one month from regular exams and results are to be declared within 15 days. There will be no supplementary batches.
All remaining guidelines will be in accordance with Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER) 1997.
MBBS Academic Calendar 2022-23
MBBS First Year: As per the MBBS 2022-23 academic calendar, the classes for the first year batch will commence on 15 November 2022 and the subjects would be anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. The span of the MBBS first-year classes will be 13 months.
MBBS Second Year: The MBBS second-year students will have subjects including pathology, microbiology, and pharmacology spanning over 13 months from 16 December 2023 to 15 January 2025.
MBBS Third Year: The MBBS third year is divided into two parts. For the first 10.5 months, the students will be learning forensic medicine and toxicology, and community medicine. In the second part of the third year, MBBS students will study subjects including general surgery, general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, ENT, and Ophthalmology for a span of 17.5 months.
Internship: The students will conclude their MBBS course with a 12-month internship starting from 01 June 2027 to 31 May 2028.
PG Courses: The students who wish to study further can apply for the postgraduate courses from 01 July 2028.
