Another shocking revelation is that out of the 67 students who scored 720 marks on the day the NEET 2024 results were declared, 6 students were from the same centre who had taken the exam. 6 students from the same centre scoring the same highest marks might seem a bit strange, hence the suspicion has grown on the Haryana centre for leaking the paper. So many students at the same centre scoring so many perfect marks shows a major lapse in the integrity of the exam.
Demand for Re-NEET 2024 and Transparency
Thousands of students and their parents are requesting the National Testing Agency (NTA) to resolve the issue in a transparent manner on social media. One of the many students has expressed his concern to TNA. “We request NTA to not hide their failures and take care of the future of the candidates by cancelling NEET 2024 and conducting NEET again.”
Students and their parents are demanding a thorough investigation of these anomalies before counselling begins. Letters have been sent to NTA requesting a comprehensive review of the results and examination process.
Confusion Over Scoring and Alleged Irregularities
Seeing the controversy growing, screenshots of scorecards of students who have scored 718 and 719 marks have also been uploaded on social media. But, when negative marking is kept in NEET, which means that an additional mark will be deducted from your total marks for every wrong answer.
For example, if you give a wrong answer, four marks will be deducted from your total marks and also an additional mark will be deducted due to negative marking. In total 5 marks. So, if we look at it this way, it does not make sense for students to get 718 and 719 marks.
Seeing this, many students have also tweeted and one student tweeted, “If the marking scheme is not changed then how can anyone get 718 and 719 marks out of 720? This could be the biggest scam done by NTA.”
Nta Reply On NEET Exam 2024: Scoring and Alleged Irregularities
In response to the students’ protest, “the NTA has responded that students who reported wastage of time have been compensated by giving grace marks. The agency has also said that it had received several representations and court cases regarding the issue of wastage of time during the exam, due to which the agency decided to give grace marks to students who reported wastage of time”
Ongoing Dispute and Demand for Re-NEET
Despite the clarifications given by the NTA for the exam, there has been no let-up in the uproar over the NEET 2024 Exam result. Reports of paper leaks, last-minute grace marks and alleged inaccuracies in the results have led to many students demanding a refund of their NEET 2024 fees.
NTA Denied The Paper Leak Allegations
Despite all these controversies, the National testing agency has also dismissed the rumors of paper leak and confirmed that these are all rumors. NTA has denied all those allegations on social media and rejected all these claims, saying that the process was safe and fair. NTA also says that all the allegations are baseless and there has been no tampering with the integrity of the exam.
